Summary. Modus Medium rebuilt and maintains the website for CORE Scholars, a Philadelphia scholarship program, so a student can find out whether they qualify and reach the application without a detour.

The problem. A scholarship site has a narrow job and a distracted audience. A student arriving on it wants to know two things: do I qualify, and where do I apply. Everything else on the page is in the way.

CORE Scholars also runs open applications with no deadline, which removes the usual pressure that gets people to finish. Without a deadline doing the work, the site has to carry it.

The build. WordPress and Elementor, rebuilt with a new design.

  • Apply Now in both the header and the hero, so the next step is visible from anywhere on the page
  • Eligibility and scholarship detail structured so a student can self-qualify before committing time
  • Handoff to Kaleidoscope, the scholarship platform that runs the application itself
  • Additional Resources and CORE News, giving the program somewhere to publish without cluttering the path to applying

The result. CORE Scholars publishes more than 24,000 scholarships awarded on its own home page. Ten years on retainer, and now on their second build with Modus Medium.
